Crazy Love – Day 2

Sunday, June 12 – Day 2

“This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Psalm 118:24

Morning began with a scenic drive past historical landmarks and monuments on our way to the magnificent National Cathedral.  Upon arrival we were awed by its intricate design and breathtaking beauty, yet we departed with hearts of gratitude for Hunter Street Baptist and having the Word preached boldly and clearly every week.  We were so proud of our young people who were astute in being able to discern the truth of God’s Word.

Next stop—Richardson’s Dwelling, a lower income apartment complex/community where students helped host “Clay Day,” an annual event that brings the community together for music, food, and games.  We were entertained by an enthusiastic group of steppers from a local church before the choir sang.  What sweet worship as XA sang praises to our King and shined His light!  God was so gracious to withhold the monsoon until ten minutes after their last song. We scurried to pack up and get to the buses—a wet experience!  Back to the hotel for a quick change and off to Boulevard at the Capital Centre for dinner.

Overall, a glorious day for XA tour 2011!
